Lampasas, TX - Clayton Tucker’s campaign for Texas Agriculture Commissioner made history by becoming the first Democratic AG Commissioner campaign to raise more than $1 million.

The race for AG Commissioner has never been a high fundraising race. The last several Democratic AG Commissioner campaigns raised only between $ 300,000 and $ 450,000. Tucker’s campaign is more than double the average Democratic AG Commissioner campaign. Tucker’s campaign saw a large bump in donations after Sheets’ campaign bus harassed Tucker’s family in Lampasas.

“While my opponent is bankrolled by data center interests, we have built a campaign funded by over 9,000 individuals donating $50 at a time.”

Tucker, a Lampasas rancher and Secretary of the Texas Farmers Union, has spent the campaign speaking out against corporate interests buying up Texas farmland and threatening rural water supplies. He was the first statewide candidate to oppose AI data centers.

“People are tired of watching the wealthy and well-connected get whatever they want while the rest of us pay the price,” Tucker said. “We’ve raised a million dollars because folks are ready to fight back. I’m proud of every Texan who’s chipped in, knocked on a door, or helped us get the word out.”

Tucker said the campaign’s fundraising success shows what working people can accomplish when they organize.

“Organized money has run roughshod over working families for too long. Now organized people are rising,” Tucker said. “We’re taking that fight all the way to Election Day.”
