Who can vote for Ag Commissioner?
If you eat food in Texas, you can vote for Ag Commissioner! You DO NOT need to be in agriculture to vote in this election. So long as you're a registered voter in Texas, you can vote for Clayton Tucker for Ag Commissioner.
When is the election?
Primary Election
- Feb 2 -- Last day to register to vote
- Feb 17-27 -- Early voting for Primary
- Feb 20 -- Last day to apply for vote by mail
- March 3 -- Primary election day + last day to receive ballot by mail
General Election
- Oct 5 -- Last day to register to vote
- Oct 19-30 -- Early voting for General
- Oct 23 -- Last day to apply for vote by mail
- Nov 3 -- General election day + last day to receive ballot by mail
Am I registered to vote?
I'm new at voting. How do I vote?
Voting is easy! While whether or not you vote is a matter of public record, WHO YOU VOTE FOR IS PRIVATE. Showing up is public record. Who you voted for is NOT.
- Make sure you are registered to vote.
- Plan what day/time you want to vote.
- Arrive with your ID (driver license, passport, voter ID card, other IDs, etc.).
- ONCE YOU'RE IN LINE, STAY IN LINE.
- Get your ballot from the election clerk. They may ask for you to confirm your address on your ID. Your ballot should have your name and other info on it.
- Put your ballot in the machine. Follow the instructions on the machine.
- Once done, the machine will print your ballot with your vote.
- Double-check to ensure the choices you made on your ballot is accurate.
- Turn them in your ballot into the vote counter.
- Lastly, get your friends/family to vote too!
