Lakes going down, aquifers dropping, Texas is running out of water. And yet, AI data centers, billionaires, and other Wall Street oligarchs are coming to mess with Texas’ water. We need a Texas Agriculture Commissioner who keeps Texas water for Texans, not for Wall Street profits.

    Water underground is being depleted by pumping yet flash floods carry a source of water down to the gulf. Is there any way state funds can be spent to save lives along the Guadalupe river? Local counties have plans but lack funds to implement life saving plans. Go one step further by asking can something be built to capture water from flash floods and slow it down or spread it out? Dams directly in the path of flash floods might be destroyed by sudden water surges but diverting flooding using spillways into planned wetlands designed to capture flood water and slow the collection of water on the Guadalupe river might help. Trying to catch and collect flood water sounds insane unless you are diverting the floods away from homes and camp grounds with strategic spillways into new reservoirs for future water use. Maybe have Data Centers pay for collecting flood waters so they have a water source.
