Lampasas, TX - Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller will join Texas Agriculture Commissioner candidate Clayton Tucker and other experts at an upcoming public forum focused on the growing impact of large-scale data centers on Texas communities, water resources, and infrastructure.
Hosted by Matagorda County Against Data Centers, the forum, titled "The Cost of Data Centers," will take place on June 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Matagorda County Fairgrounds in Bay City.
The event will bring together speakers from diverse backgrounds to discuss concerns about the rapid expansion of AI data centers across Texas, including their effects on water supplies, power infrastructure, rural communities, and local economies.
"This issue is bringing Texans together from all walks of life," Tucker said. "People may disagree on a lot of things, but they understand that our water, our land, and our communities should not be sacrificed so a handful of tech barons can get even richer."
