Stop AI Data Centers - Clayton Tucker for TX Ag Commissioner Skip navigation

Stop AI Data Centers

Data centers, including those for AI, are cropping up across Texas. If we are not exceedingly smart with their design, placement, and purpose, they will cause higher water and power bills, run water wells dry, and may hurt jobs.

The TX Ag Commissioner can stop, or at the very least buy time for locals and other officials to find different ways to stop, these irresponsible AI data centers from causing mass water/power inflation. On Day 1 of the job, Clayton will issue "Ag Impact Studies" to stop irresponsible AI data centers from messing with Texas.

For a data center to be considered responsible, it must:

  1. Not cause power disruptions or inflation.
  2. Use brackish or other non-drinking water in a sustainable way, thereby not causing water bill inflation.
  3. Use unionized Texas labor for construction and maintenance.
  4. Pay fair and adequate taxes to their local community.
  5. Not contribute to the the inflation of RAM, computer memory, or other components leading to inflation of electronics.
  6. Not to be placed on prime farmland.
  7. Not be used to automate jobs away, used to promote propaganda, or be used to create a subscription economy where working people own nothing and billionaires own everything.

Data centers, including those for AI, are coming to mess with Texas. With them will come higher water and power bills, dry water wells, and no real jobs. These data centers are of, by, and for Wall Street. They will harm both Main Street families and County Road farms. We need an Agriculture Commissioner who will fight to stop all irresponsible AI data centers from causing mass utility inflation and who will put Texans first, not Wall Street or Big Tech.

Data centers are horrible. No one needs AI enough to pollute our water, raise our electric bills, and further destroy the Earth’s ecosystems. Say NO to ALL data centers.

City and County officials must get agreement from their constituents before allowing data centers to be built. Studies need to be done on their long-term impact. Data centers must not be built near residences, schools and businesses. They need to NOT suck off infrastructure already paid for by citizens. If there’s such a need for them they must be built far from populated areas and generate their own electricity and find their own source of water. Data centers create noise pollution, they hum and vibrate. They give off EMFs. They are big ugly concrete monstrosities and employ few people.

They will put further stress on our water and power grid. Texans should not be punished. Make these places generate their own electricity find their own water sources.

I hear there is one coming to Lacy Lakeview, Elm Mott Tx and has been approved by the city council. No residents were given a voice to oppose or agree.

Why? Prove the need, before we dedicate the resources.

Electricity is short in supply, and water is scarce

How much Data do they really need to store?

Make them answer the Tough Questions. Without all their “Garballygook”!
