Stop AI Data Centers - Clayton Tucker for TX Ag Commissioner Skip navigation

Stop AI Data Centers

Data centers, including those for AI, are cropping up across Texas. If we are not exceedingly smart with their design, placement, and purpose, they will cause higher water and power bills, run water wells dry, and may hurt jobs.

The TX Ag Commissioner can stop, or at the very least buy time for locals and other officials to find different ways to stop, these irresponsible AI data centers from causing mass water/power inflation or harming . On Day 1 of the job, Clayton will issue "Ag Impact Studies" to force data centers to be honest with their resource consumption. This will also slow them down considerably. Clayton will also help locals set up "Ag Development Districts" so that locals can fight back.

For a data center to be considered responsible, it must:

  1. Not cause power disruptions or inflation.
  2. Use brackish or other non-drinking water in a sustainable way, thereby not causing water bill inflation.
  3. Use unionized Texas labor for construction and maintenance.
  4. Pay fair and adequate taxes to their local community.
  5. Not contribute to the the inflation of RAM, computer memory, or other components leading to inflation of electronics.
  6. Not to be placed on prime farmland.
  7. Not be used to automate jobs away, used to promote propaganda, or be used to create a subscription economy where working people own nothing and billionaires own everything.

Data centers, including those for AI, are coming to mess with Texas. With them will come higher water and power bills, dry water wells, and no real jobs. These data centers are of, by, and for Wall Street. They will harm both Main Street families and County Road farms. We need an Agriculture Commissioner who will fight to stop all irresponsible AI data centers from causing mass utility inflation and who will put Texans first, not Wall Street or Big Tech.

Stop the destruction of our rural areas. I grew up on a large ranch and it’s heartbreaking to see what’s happening to the environment at the hands of these rich people who hate us and only care about money and power we that grew up in the country care about animals and land and water and conservation they don’t make more land or natural resources once we ruin it all it’s ruined

My friends and myself are getting priced out of our gaming hobby due to AI, my second job as a computer tech is on standby because clients can’t afford to get the basic parts of their computer due to AI. AI has no place in Texas or any part of the United States. Dismantle AI.

As a retiree, I don’t want and cannot afford for my utilities to go up. We are already restricted on water use for watering our very small townhome lawn. Our fixed monthly income is already stretched to the max with Medicare and supplement insurance premiums going up every year and no dental or eyecare coverage due to the premium costs. Food has gone up. Prescription meds have gone up and Medicare part D pays little. Please stop this madness. It should have been put to the people to vote on. This is “taxation without representation” at it’s core. There is nothing good about these unnecessary “data centers.” Please put a stop to it. Now.

Life as we know it will cease to exist if we don’t stop these data centers.

We have the same issues in Pampa,Tx/Gray County they are building a Data Center that we never wanted and never got to vote on. They also said it would give us job opportunities but that wasn’t true either they are hiring people outside of our town. They won’t use any of our companies that are here in Pampa,Tx and that isn’t helping our community here and if they do hire anybody here it will only last at 3 years. And don’t get me started on the water and electric issues that we will have to deal with when the Data Center is up and running.
