Stop AI Data Centers - Clayton Tucker for TX Ag Commissioner Skip navigation

Stop AI Data Centers

Data centers, including those for AI, are cropping up across Texas. If we are not exceedingly smart with their design, placement, and purpose, they will cause higher water and power bills, run water wells dry, and may hurt jobs.

The TX Ag Commissioner can stop, or at the very least buy time for locals and other officials to find different ways to stop, these irresponsible AI data centers from causing mass water/power inflation or harming . On Day 1 of the job, Clayton will issue "Ag Impact Studies" to force data centers to be honest with their resource consumption. This will also slow them down considerably. Clayton will also help locals set up "Ag Development Districts" so that locals can fight back.

For a data center to be considered responsible, it must:

  1. Not cause power disruptions or inflation.
  2. Use brackish or other non-drinking water in a sustainable way, thereby not causing water bill inflation.
  3. Use unionized Texas labor for construction and maintenance.
  4. Pay fair and adequate taxes to their local community.
  5. Not contribute to the the inflation of RAM, computer memory, or other components leading to inflation of electronics.
  6. Not to be placed on prime farmland.
  7. Not be used to automate jobs away, used to promote propaganda, or be used to create a subscription economy where working people own nothing and billionaires own everything.

Data centers, including those for AI, are coming to mess with Texas. With them will come higher water and power bills, dry water wells, and no real jobs. These data centers are of, by, and for Wall Street. They will harm both Main Street families and County Road farms. We need an Agriculture Commissioner who will fight to stop all irresponsible AI data centers from causing mass utility inflation and who will put Texans first, not Wall Street or Big Tech.

As someone who’s currently active duty military, I can’t stand the idea that I’m gonna come back to a home that’s been tainted in the pursuit of greed

There should be no NDAs , full transparency, and 20 years worth of salary money deposited for the jobs to pay them out if the data center fails. At the least. They should pay for all infrastructure, and taxes in full to the community.

They should not be in nature preserves, dry up wetlands, or close to neighborhoods. So basically, they should not exist. We have enought to function we dont need more.

I have a lot of concerns about how many of the data center activities are being done in the shadows with no public input: purpose, electricity/water usage, “grid upgrades”, threats of AI modeling, noise production, pollutants, oversell of the value etc.

Stop literally incentivizing billionaires to destroy our environments and leech our resources by giving them DISCOUNTS on power and water. RIDICULOUS!! Better yet, PLEASE please please set actual, hard limits on the amount of resources AI companies and their data centers are allowed to use per day. Thank you!!

Data centers will be the death of our economy, wildlife, and will cause a multitude of human health issues. Ban these and ban the ones they are trying to install in the Alaskan ocean around whales and other sea wildlife.
