Lampasas, TX - A new statewide poll from Texas Public Opinion Research shows a statistical tie in the race for Texas Agriculture Commissioner, with Clayton Tucker at 44% and Data Nate at 46% among likely Texas general-election voters. The two-point difference falls within the poll’s ±3.6 percentage-point margin of error. TPOR surveyed 1,007 likely Texas voters September 19–22.

Tucker released the following statement:

“This race is a statistical tie because Texans are tired of watching the richest corporations in the world get whatever they want while working people are told to settle for less.

“These Corrupt Bigshots want our land, our water, and our power for massive AI data centers. They have lobbyists, PACs, and piles of money to get their way in Austin. Meanwhile, farmers and ranchers are fighting to keep their operations alive, families are paying too much at the grocery store, and rural communities are wondering whether there will be enough water left for the next generation.

“We have something they don’t: people. Texans from every corner of this state are coming together because they know we can build an agricultural economy that works for the people who grow our food and the families who put it on the table.

“Only organized people can beat organized money. This race shows what happens when we organize.”

The September survey is the second in TPOR’s monthly general-election tracking series. In its August survey, TPOR measured Sheets at 44% and Tucker at 40%, with 11% undecided. The September results show Sheets at 46%, Tucker at 44%, and 7% undecided.
