Hemp - Clayton Tucker for TX Ag Commissioner Skip navigation

Hemp

Hemp is an important product with many uses and benefits.

As Texas Agriculture Commissioner, Clayton Tucker fully supports the right for every farmer to raise hemp, and adults to consume hemp products, without undue interference from government or corporations. Clayton is against any corporation creating a monopoly on hemp production or processing. Clayton supports fair and transparent labeling for all hemp products. Clayton will work with both Congress and the Texas Legislature to achieve this.

I am a store owner and these new regulations have severely hurt my business and the mass confusion that they have brought make it to where customers don’t know what they can and can’t buy/ possess. I have 80 year olds fearing they’re going to end up in jail for hemp. It’s ridiculous and I hope the lawsuit works out.

Hemp is the last hope for the average person to own a local business or create a new idea and prosper from plant medicine, building material, fuel, fibers, and much more. It’s a no-brainer to start applying the knowledge and know-how to organize and legalize this safe plant and educate people on it. Texas is losing as a whole keeping it illegal. We are the biggest consumers and could be innovators if legislation and fair regulation changes on the subject. This country wouldn’t exist without hemp from the sails and rope our forefathers used to get here to ancient cultures using it for a variety of ailments and usages. It’s time to stop prohibition where started!

Harmless herb that has never killed anyone, yet tobacco and alcohol are readily available and accessible to minors and have killed many…it’s sad to see that the money and power of the alcohol and tobacco industry influence the control our state😔
