Hemp - Clayton Tucker for TX Ag Commissioner Skip navigation

Hemp

Hemp is an important product with many uses and benefits.

As Texas Agriculture Commissioner, Clayton Tucker fully supports the right for every farmer to raise hemp, and adults to consume hemp products, without undue interference from government or corporations. Clayton is against any corporation creating a monopoly on hemp production or processing. Clayton supports fair and transparent labeling for all hemp products. Clayton will work with both Congress and the Texas Legislature to achieve this.

I’m so sick of being prescribed codine pills and being a shell of a man. The TCUP program is a joke. Only the rich can afford and doesn’t offer real natural medicine. Any government that prohibits cannabis/hemp is keeping its community sick.

Texas should embrace a regulated hemp industry rather than trying to prohibit it. Hemp gives Texas farmers another crop, supports local businesses and jobs, and has valuable uses in textiles, building materials, biodegradable products, food, and more. Adult-use products should be tested, accurately labeled, age-restricted where appropriate, and regulated and taxed much like alcohol. Sensible regulation protects consumers and legitimate businesses; prohibition simply pushes demand into an unregulated market. Let Texas farmers grow it, let responsible adults choose it, and regulate the industry intelligently.
