Glyphosate (RoundUp) is a harmful chemical used in pesticides. Trace amounts are found on all farm products — from vegetables to breakfast cereals. Like most harmful chemicals found in our foods, it was developed for other purposes before corporations hooked farmers on it.

Adding insult to injury, Bayer-Monsanto, the maker of glyphosate, is a monopoly that has rigged our food system to be dependent on their farm inputs. They or their subsidiaries make the seeds, fertilizers, and herbicides/pesticides. Since they own or control the entire input supply chain, they are able to charge any price — meaning they horrifically price gouge farmers. Due to air drift during application, once one farmer starts using their products, it poisons other farmers crops/fields to the point where they too must start using Monsanto's products or else they go out of business. 

The Iran War has caused significant supply chain disruptions for farmers, causing shortages of farm inputs and price spikes. As this crisis pushes family farms to the brink, regenerative farming is making a comeback. Regenerative farming doesn't use such chemicals. Regenerative farming is a return to historical farming practices that limit synthetic inputs, lowering costs and increasing productivity in the long run, all while creating healthier, more nutritious foods.
